1/ NOTION CALENDAR NOW PICKS THE MEETING TIME FOR YOU

Add people to a new event in Notion Calendar and it now recommends times that actually work for everyone, with conflicts visible before you commit.

No more "does 2pm work?" three times over in three different threads. You see the overlap, pick a slot, move on. The announcement on X drew replies that read like relief: "Scheduling shouldn't take 6 messages to find 1 slot," one reply put it.

Calendly and Google Calendar solved this exact problem years ago. What's actually new is that it's built into the same tool where your docs, tasks, and now your skills already live, one less app in your stack, not a smarter algorithm.

Whether it holds up long term depends on whether it's actually pulling real availability instead of just your own calendar, and whether it's gated behind Notion AI on your plan, a detail people kept asking about that never quite got answered.

2/ PEOPLE ARE WIRING GROK BOT STRAIGHT INTO NOTION

Notion ran its own highlight reel this week: real users pairing Grok's bot with Notion databases for everything from a coffee-tasting log to full multi-agent project management.

The standouts: a "block on me" to-do column that pings you to unblock it, webhook triggers that wake a bot the moment a Notion page changes, a prospect list where every row arrives pre filled with the reach-out angle, and one setup running a manager bot plus specialist sub-bots entirely on Notion pages.

None of this needed Notion's blessing to work, people were already doing it. What Notion's doing here is telling you it's paying attention, and telling everyone else this is the intended use case going forward.

The common thread across every example is the same: a recurring task that used to get redone by hand now runs off a trigger instead, a webhook, a scheduled check, a database change, quietly doing the work in the background.

3/ CUSTOM AGENTS CAN NOW JOIN A CHATGPT, CLAUDE, OR GROK BOT CHAT VIA MCP

Connect Notion to ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok Bot through MCP, and any Custom Agent you have access to shows up inside that conversation.

Instead of bouncing between apps, you chat once and your Notion agent joins as another participant, reading and writing to your workspace without you ever leaving the host app.

The tech works, but the questions Notion didn't answer are the interesting part. Does the agent run with your Notion permissions or its own? What happens when two agents have overlapping tool schemas? And underneath all of it sat the more basic question of why you'd burn credits in one AI tool just to talk to a pricier one running somewhere else.

Genuinely useful once it's set up, but worth reading the fine print on cost and access before wiring it into anything you touch daily.

What people actually keep in Notion these days is all over the place, in the best way. Project trackers and client hubs sit right next to a fully mapped road trip planner with backup routes for closed roads, a tabletop campaign wiki, a credit card benefits tracker, and one setup where a phone widget drops a quick note into a database, emails a follow up, and turns it into a calendar event without anyone touching it again.

A couple of quieter patterns run underneath all that variety though. Plenty of people are talking an idea through with AI before building it now, so Notion doesn't just quietly fill up with half finished databases nobody opens again. And a fair few have started splitting things up on purpose, letting Notion hold what's meant to last while something else handles the temporary, messy, still-being-figured-out stuff.

There's no real line between "this belongs in Notion" and "I'm just building because I can," never has been. The stuff that survives is just whatever people actually know they'll come back to.
